What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy can best be described as giving the body the appropriate nutrients it needs for optimal function.  A properly prepared, nutrient dense diet provides the ultimate foundation for optimal health.  Health is built upon certain biochemical foundations: Digestion, Blood Sugar Balance, Mineral Balance, Fatty Acid balance and Hydration.  Weaknesses in these foundations lead to the degenerative problems that plague the modern world.  Starting with a solid foundation of whole foods and addressing these five pillars is the path to optimal health.

How Do I get started?

It’s simple! We begin with a free phone consultation where we BOTH gather some information to see if we would be a good fit to work together towards your journey to health.

What is the NAQ?

The NAQ is the Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire.  The purpose of the NAQ is to provide the Nutritional Therapist with information about your symptoms and health concerns.

If you choose to work One on One you will receive an invitation and instructions via email to complete a NAQ.

What can I expect on my first appointment?

After your free phone consultation we will schedule your One on One Consultation.  The Consultation will last 1.5 hours. Prior to this appointment you will have filled out AND returned to me via email the disclaimer, the initial interview form and a completed 3 day food journal.  Remember these must be returned at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.

We will spend approximately 60 minutes going over your initial interview form, 3 day food journal and NAQ.

Will I have to take a bunch of supplements?

Along with a nutrient dense diet there will likely be a need for some supplementation.  The idea, quite simply, is to help the body regain the ability to do its job.  Sometimes our bodies need a helping hand with supplementation to jump start the process of healing.  Our body has a miraculous, innate intelligence and it literally knows how to repair itself.  Once it is given the right nutrients to do so, it can begin to travel the path of health and healing.

What does the Re-evaluation of the NAQ include?

Included in the 3 or 6 month Nutritional Therapy Consulting is a re-evaluation of the NAQ (Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire).  This will allow me to evaluate your progress. You will receive a 2nd email invitation to complete another online NAQ. We will go over the results together and make adjustments if/where appropriate.

What does the Re-evaluation of the 3 Day Food Journal include?

Included in the 3 and 6 month Nutritional Therapy Consulting is a re-evaluation of the 3 day food journal.  You will provide me with another 3 day journal that we will evaluate together to make sure you are nutritionally supporting your body based on the recommendations you received at the beginning of your journey.
