What Is this Restart® Program all about anyway?

 

Are you wondering what the program is? If YOU can do it? Are you wondering if it WORKS?  Well, then read on because I am going to break it down for you and let you know what the program is about and what to expect from it during the 5 weeks.  

I believe one of the vital aspects of the Restart® program is the group support you receive from the other participants.  You are all in this together and having the support and encouragement of your classmates is definitely one of the keys to your success. 

Each week builds upon the previous class so it is very important that you commit yourself to attending all of the classes.  The program is designed to allow you to experience all the benefits that come from giving your body a serious break from the toxicity of sugar.

During Week 1 you will be given a binder that you are expected to bring to each class. We will be adding pages to this binder each week.  This class is to prepare you for weeks 2, 3, and 4 which are the weeks of the sugar detox. After filling out a few forms for me we will run through the lists of what to eat and what not to eat, and I will then be giving you lots of suggestions that will allow you to make this a successful Restart®!  

During Week 2  This is the beginning of your 3 week sugar detox! You will be learning about Digestion.  We will focus on how digestion is supposed to function and also what happens when it is dysfunctional.  We will be doing a couple of fun group activities as well!  

During Week 3 You will be one full week into your detox! Likely most of you will be feeling pretty darn good at this point and it might shock you that you have made it through a whole week without sugar! You will be learning about Blood Sugar Regulation during this class.  We will discuss Hypoglycemia, Insulin Resistance, Hyperglycemia and Type 2 Diabetes.

During Week 4 This is your last full week of the detox.  During this class you will be learning all about healthy fats and why we need them in our diets.  Some of the things we will be talking about are Cholesterol, Omega 3 and Omega 6 fats and inflammation.  By the end of this class I promise you will have a different outlook on dietary fat!

During Week 5 You made it! This marks the end of the 3 week sugar detox and this class will provide you with some tools to reintroduce things that you pulled out during the detox.  You will leave this class with a binder FULL of great information that you can reference at anytime.
